The Wink-Loving ISD project was designed with one goal in mind: to create a cutting-edge, highly functional play and recreation space that promotes physical activity, inclusion, and safety, all while reinforcing school spirit.
From early concept to final installation, our team collaborated closely with district leaders and staff to bring their vision to life. The result? A bold, custom playground and athletic zone that meets the needs of a growing student body and supports the district’s commitment to active, engaged learners.
Features & Highlights:
Obstacle-Based Active Playgrounds
Built for challenge and engagement, the obstacle-style play systems are designed to support upper body development, coordination, agility, and confidence—perfect for middle and upper-grade students. These structures offer ninja-warrior-style features that promote physical education and free-play athleticism.
Synthetic Turf & Open-Use Fields
Custom synthetic turf systems with high-performance padding ensure year-round use and reduced maintenance, while providing a safe, even playing surface for recess, PE, and athletics. From soccer to running games, students have space to move.
Multi-Zone Shade Structures
Oversized hip and sail shades cover playgrounds, seating areas, and picnic zones to reduce heat and UV exposure—making the area usable even on hot Texas afternoons. The contrast of black shades against orange steel framing reflects the school’s branding while delivering essential functionality.
Age-Appropriate Play Units
Separate areas serve different age groups, helping prevent overcrowding and increasing safety. From early-childhood spinners and slides to climbing walls for teens, every student has the opportunity to explore age-appropriate challenges.
Inclusive & Accessible Design
The space is designed to be welcoming for all students, including those with disabilities. Ramps, surfacing, and layout considerations make it easy for everyone to engage, learn, and play.
School Spirit Integration
Custom touches like the turf's mascot logo, orange-and-black color scheme, and tailored equipment selections help foster pride and ownership in the space. It’s not just a playground—it’s a celebration of school identity.
