Located in Lubbock, Texas, this Lubbock-Cooper ISD elementary school is in a growing phase. The school district has approximately 6,000 students and growing. To support its growth and increase in students, the school needed a new playground. Leadership at the elementary school requested a playground that would allow more students to play at once, and with more accessibility features.

The main school playground structure includes many slides, climbers, a deck-level activity panel, and several ground-level activities. To make it easier for children and staff in mobility devices, poured-in-place surfacing was installed. In addition to the play structure, we also installed a freestanding bubble climber. Climbers help strengthen children’s leg muscles and hand-eye coordination.

Separately from the playground area is a set of swings. There are 8 belt seat swings and a set of adaptive swings. Anyone can swing on this playground!

The colors of red and gray were chosen so the students could continue to show their Pirate pride on the playground. Students look forward to recess every day.
